Meat and Greet 2018
MEAT & GREET 2018
Autism Speaks is enhancing lives today and accelerating a spectrum of solutions for tomorrow.
The "Meat and Greet" is our annual Summer kick-off party with a cause. Over the 5 years we've had it, it has raised approximately $30,000 for Autism Speaks (www.autismspeaks.org).
Grilled and/or smoked meats start appearing at 2 PM and continue throughout the day/night including shrimp, chicken, beef, pork, etc. People come and go whenever they wish. Kids are welcome. Also provided are soft drinks, beer on tap, punch, wine, etc. We ask people to bring a side or dessert because we like the variety that provides, and we never know who will show up and when. You might also bring a lawn chair, just in case. Park where you can, and expect a little walk.
Lost Dog is returning this year, and we're still working out what other acts might appear.
**Did you say Beer?**
We're working out the beer list with the local breweries, and also having a brew day soon for the home brewers.
( Note that the local breweries donated the cash equivalent of the beer to the charity, and I buy the beer to keep it 100% legal.)
**The Charity Part:**
Nothing is mandatory, and there is no admission fee. All of the money collected goes directly to Autism Speaks. We'll have a donation box and cash receipts for anyone who wishes to participate. We pay for all the material unless we find a generous sponsor. If your company is interested in sponsoring anything, please contact me. You can also donate online on this page.
There is also a sweet little silent auction. Let us know if you have something for it.
