1st Annual Blue and Gray Bike Fest
On August 22nd 2017, at roughly 2am two lives were changed forever. On this warm night two bikers met at a traffic light without knowing that some greater power than themselves was going to create a powerful friendship. As the light turned green those two men raced off into their destiny. The motors roared as the white lines quickly flashed beneath their feet in the faint glow of dim streetlights. In a split second a driver made an illegal u-turn causing the lead bike to collide into the rear of the vehicle. The other rider quickly parked and ran to the carnage. On the street laid a young man with horrific injuries to his leg. It was at that point, as I lay in the street with my new friend making him talk to me to take the focus off of the bone protruding from his thigh, I found out that he was a live in care taker for a young man with autism. Even with the obvious pain this man felt, I could feel the love he felt for this boy he cared for.
As the time passed we became good friends. One day as we sat around talking, I pitched an idea for a bike festival, and he quickly said that we had to raise money for autism. So here we are. I'm raisings funds for the mission of Autism Speaks - enhancing lives today and accelerating a spectrum of solutions for tomorrow.
Please support me by donating and help me meet my fundraising goal - and you, too, can enhance lives today and accelerate a spectrum of solutions for tomorrow!
