Fundraising for Autism Research - Capstone DLS
I'm raisings funds for the mission of Autism Speaks - enhancing lives today and accelerating a spectrum of solutions for tomorrow.
As many of you know, I am currently studying to receive my Special Education Licensure and Autism Support Certificate within the next year. Within these studies, I am mentoring an 8th grade student at Denver Language School. This student, Sarah Thornton, is completing her Capstone Project in everything related to Autism-Spectrum Disorder. We are presenting a brief overview on "Autism Then & Now" to our 4th grade students this month. We will also be presenting tips for building meaningful relationships with classmates who have ASD.
Sarah, I and our DLS friends will be walking on May 9th for Autism Speaks. Autism Speaks is the main driving force behind Autism research, education, advancement and more.
They are responsible for creating a global awareness and understanding of ASD with public messaging campaigns, fundraising events and initiating the Worldwide Autism Month. They have also raised $3 billion in federal autism research and provide 500,000 children with appropriate medical care. Austim Speaks supports people from childhood to adulthood with transition services, education grants and many tools for individuals and families.
Please support me by donating and help me meet my fundraising goal - and you, too, can enhance lives today and accelerate a spectrum of solutions for tomorrow!
