Fundraise Your Way

The MAX Challenge of Arthur Kill & Sharrotts

OUR GOAL AT THE MAX CHALLENGE OF ARTHUR KILL & SHARROTTS IS TO RAISE $15,000 FOR AUTISM SPEAKS! IN ORDER TO DO THIS, WE ARE HOPING TO HAVE 150 OF OUR MEMBERS AND THEIR FRIENDS AND FAMILY ATTEND THE MAX DAY OF GIVING EACH FUNDRAISING AN AVERAGE OF $100 PER PERSON. THE EVENT IS COMPLETELY FREE THEREFORE IT IS NOT A REQUIREMENT TO RAISE $100, ANYONE CAN ATTEND EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT CAPABLE OF RAISING OR MAKING A DONATION.  IF 150 OF INDIVIDUAL'S WERE TO BE ABLE TO RAISE $10 FROM TEN PEOPLE, WE WOULD ACHIEVE OUR GOAL OF MAKING A SIGNIFICANT DONATION OF $15,000 TO AUTISM SPEAKS!

Our very own instructor, Nicole Napoli, has two sons with Autism so this is a cause that is very close to home. Nicole is one of many parents dealing with this as 1 in 68 American children are on the Autism spectrum.

“Hello MAX Family! My name is Nicole Napoli and I am the evening instructor for THE MAX Challenge of Arthur Kill & Sharrotts. First and foremost, I am a mother of 3 amazing boys, two of which have Autism Spectrum Disorder. My Salvatore was diagnosed about 8 years ago and my little one Michael was diagnosed about 4 years ago. Being an autism parent has taught me many things about myself, about life and unconditional love. I have discovered I am stronger than I ever could have imagined and I have to be. Strong is the only option! An autism mom is who I am! I do not let autism define my boys, but it has definitely defined me as a mother and the woman I am today and I wear that label proudly. These children have a strength about them that amazes me daily. Despite all of their struggles and frustrations they have and will continue to overcome these obstacles. They will be the best versions of themselves and I love them unconditionally for who they are and who they will become. With that said, being an autism mom isn't always easy. I decided that I needed some time for me, an outlet. I found THE MAX about a year and half ago and it was honestly the best decision I could have ever made for both myself and my family. I was more level headed, calmer and the children felt it. It made this autism mom the best version of me for my kids, for my family and for myself. This Day of Giving touches my heart more than I could ever express. THE MAX has already given me so much and once again to give back to my family, our boys, I am extremely humbled. Autism Speaks is an amazing organization that focuses research on finding answers about Autism Spectrum Disorder that our family so deeply wants. So please come out on April 22nd and support our family and all the other amazing families who live with autism in their homes every day. Thank you, I truly look forward to seeing you all at the MAX Day of Giving!”
