Stacey Brazen. Berlin 2020
Welcome and thanks for taking the time to read about and help my efforts for Autism Speaks!
I am raising funds to support this cause that is important to me while accomplishing my personal goal of completing the 6 World Major Marathons.
Autism, or autism spectrum disorder, refers to a range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates 1 in 59 children is on the autism spectrum.
Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions. They empower people with autism and their families with resources, online tools and information covering the life span.
Autism Speaks enhances lives today and is accelerating a spectrum of solutions for tomorrow. Please donate whatever you can to make a difference with me one mile at a time. 100% goes to the organization.
After the Tokyo 2020 Marathon was cancelled because of the Coronavirus I am honored to be a member of this team for my 4th of the 6 World Majors this Sept.
My journey to run these races has had many ups, downs, and countless injuries but with the love of the people that have supported me and my causes, it just encourages me even more to keep going. There are many, many days that I don’t want to run or injured and it’s my supporters and the causes that continue to push me. And when I feel like I can’t go any further and want to quit I remember how fortunate I am to be able to be a part of such a cause and goal and I GO ON!
Thank you so much for helping me reach my goal. Your support is so very much appreciated! Mucho LOVE
