Welcome to Reece's Page
July 4th, 8:45 meet time, 9:00 WALK TIME @ Cesar Chavez Middle School in Union City - 2801 Hop Ranch Road
Friends and Family! About a year ago, Reece was diagnosed with Autism. Every day is new and different, some more challenging than others, but he continues to grow and surprise us. He is still non-verbal, but hopefully with each day of growth, he will be closer and closer to talking to us.
In efforts to support our son and everyone who's lives are touched by Autism, we will be taking a small walk on July 4th! We aren't sure if it is technically a "5k", but it will be just over 3 miles. We will start and end at Cesar Chavez Middle School and walk around the neighborhood and trail. If you would like to join, we will be meeting at 8:45 and leaving right at 9 am! Also, if you would like to donate to Autism Speaks you can do so as well. This is not a sponsored walk, so there will be no confetti or balloons, it will just be a nice stroll along our beautiful Alameda Creek.
Please don’t feel obligated to do anything. Feel free to share with whomever you would like. Please don’t feel like you need to donate, but if you want to give a little something it could be a bit confusing. If you click donate now it goes to “my team” but my team is in Reecies Besties. If you happen to create your own team the donation still is under "Reecies Besties", but you could now branch off and invite your own friends and family. We created one team and then wanted to add each other, but then created a different team as well. But it’s all the same. We don’t win a prize or anything. So you do NOT need to donate. All the money raised goes to Autism Speaks and they help spread the awareness of autism. Putting on a blue shirt and walking either with us or on your own is enough.
If you can come walk, great! If you can donate, great! If you can do both, even better! If you are going to join us, I believe Autism Speaks sells shirts, but if you have a blue shirt at home, that will work just as well. If you aren't able to join, but still want to get out and move for Autism, please send us pictures of your walk with your blue on. #ReeciesBesties
Again, thank you for your support! Reece is loved by amazing friends and family!
