It’s already almost the Fourth of July. I’m not in shape for the Autism Speaks 5K, but we’ll be doing it anyway. We’re moving forward for Team Ben. We hope you’ll join us with your support, even though I am late with the request. We have until the end of July to collect donations.
This year Ben, Jenn, Paul and the dogs will do it virtually in Wisconsin. Joe and I will do it in Potomac with the hundreds of other runners. You’re welcomed to join in the fun. You can do it anytime and let us know that you did 5K for Team Ben. Send a picture, if you’d like. Walking works, if you don’t want to run.
Time goes by quickly. Ben will be 16 on July 16th. He’ll be a junior in high school. He’s over 6’ tall and is very handsome, but we’re not prejudiced.
Research is helping with early identification and treatment. Increased awareness about both the talents and the needs for people with autism is encouraging educators, business people, and communities to supply opportunities for advanced education, independent living, and jobs as this population ages.
We appreciate your years of support. Please, do what you can this year and know that we are grateful. You can send a check payable to Autism Speaks (with Team Ben noted) to us at 8502 Buckhannon Drive, Rockville, MD 20854.
