Why I Walk for Autism Speaks in honor of Mrs. Bartley
As many of you know Hunter has come leaps and bounds since he was diagnosed at 7 years old. A big part of Hunter‘s progress through the years is owed to his wonderful teachers and staff at Warner Christian Academy. One teacher in particular who brought her concerns to us in first grade which led to an evaluation and later a diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome is Mrs Bartley. It is because of her that Hunter was able to get early intervention and have his path in life forever changed! As Hunter grew older and moved on in school she still remained a constant support to our family. As years passed she went from a spectacular teacher to a very special friend to me. She went on 4 years later to be Dylan’s teacher and then 4 years after that to be Zoey’s teacher.
In Feb of this year Mrs Bartley passed away of Leukemia. This year Team Hunter will fundraise and walk in honor of Mrs Bartley one of the best people I know. We will honor the kindest teacher/friend anyone could have. We love you Mrs Bartley!!
