Why I Walk for Autism Speaks
I'm walking to raise funds for the mission of Autism Speaks – to fuel innovative research and make connections to critical lifelong supports and services for the autism community.
I'm walking in support of my nephew, Geamari. He has big brown eyes, long beautiful eyelashes and the most beautiful heart. He loves cars, trucks and all electronic devises. Looking at him, you would never know that he has a disorder called autism spectrum disorder. Autism affects every aspect of Geamari's life. He is highly intelligent, with an extensive vocabulary, but he doesn't always interact appropriately with others. He has trouble processing the world around him. He has sensory issues that prevent him from enjoying the things that we sometimes take for granted. It's hard to imagine what the future holds for him.
Please support me by donating and help me meet my fundraising goal - and you, too, can join the team and make an impact for Geamari and others living with autism!
I earned my Walk Tee Shirt!
