Steinhauer Elementary School
On Thursday, April 4, 2019, Steinhauer Elementary School will have its annual Autism Walk and Basketball game. Our student council has been preparing for this event all year. This is a wonderful way for our school to show a sense of pride and community. Since 2006, we have supported the Autism Speaks Foundation by organizing a walk and a Student vs. Faculty Basketball game. Last year our school raised over $4,000.00 during the annual basketball game. Once again we are planning to combine the Autism Walk and basketball game all in the same day by walking to the High School from Steinhauer. We will begin walking from Steinhauer school to the High School as a group at 5:00pm. We expect the walkers to arrive at the High School around 6:00pm. At that time, we hope you join us for our annual Student Vs Faculty basketball game which takes place in the Maple Shade HS gym.
Please let me know if you’ll be able to join us for this incredible event. In New Jersey, a 2016 study showed that 1 in 41 kids are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Boys (1 in 26) are four times more likely to have Autism than girls. The Steinhauer students could not think of a better way to help their community.
You can reach us at school (856) 779-7323 or by email email@example.com with any questions. Please let us know if we’ll be seeing you on the 4th. We look forward to seeing you there! All of the proceeds raised on April 4th will be donated to Autism Speaks. Check back in to this site after the event to see how much we raised.
