Runners, we wouldn't be able to complete our puzzle piece without you!
With autism becoming the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the US with 1 in 68 children diagnosed, Autism Speaks is looking to raise awareness while having a great time in the 3rdAnnual Houston 8K & 1K Kid's Fun Run on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Sugar Land Town Square.
So lace up those running shoes for an event that means so much more than just 4.97 miles. Recruit friends and family for your team and get ready to run, walk or virtual run for a great cause.
Teams: Teams take on the spirit of the day as family, friends and co-workers join together to have fun and help raise awareness for autism. Organize friends, family, schools, place of worship, community organization, or get your company involved! Choose a team name and captain or co-captains. Each team member (adult and child) is asked to set a minimum fundraising goal of $168, but we always encourage more!
Matching Gifts: Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Some provide matching funds to support employee volunteer hours. Most of these programs match contributions dollar for dollar, and some will even double or triple the amount of your gift! To see if your company will match your donation, search for your company here: https://www.autismspeaks.org/matching-gifts
Join us for a fun filled morning of running and racing for Autism Speaks. The 8K course will start at Sugar Land Town Square and wind its way through the roads of Sugar Land.
1K Kid’s Fun Run
A fun way to have your kids join in on the race day experience. The Kids K will stay within the Sugar Land Town Square. All kids will receive a finisher's medal. Children will also enjoy many fun activities after their race to keep them busy as family members complete the 8K.
Virtual 8K & 1K Kid’s Fun Run: We are strongly encouraging runners and walkers who can’t be with us at Sugar Land Town Square on Saturday, April 21st to compete and/or participate in our “Virtual 8K & 1K Kid’s Fun Run”. Virtual Runners must register via the website, and will receive their performance shirt in advance to join us virtually on April 21st. You can run and raise money for autism anywhere! Virtual runners are encouraged to snap a photo in their t-shirt with run location and e-mail it to firstname.lastname@example.org or post to our Facebook wall.
