Walk News and Updates

More than 600 people attended the 2017 Autism Speaks Walk in Jacksonville on December 3, 2017 at The Avenues Mall. The day would not have been possible without the support of our participants, donors, volunteers and sponsors - BASS, Behavior Builders, First Coast Association for Behavior Analysis, Great Strides Rehabilitation, Jacksonville School for Autism, Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, Reaching Milestones, Shining Stars ABA, SPARK and Wolfson Children's Hospital. The silent whisper of the pom-poms during the Mission Moment reminded us all that we are apart of a community - a community of people with autism, parents, siblings, grandparents, friends, service providers and co-workers. We came together becase of the power of our love and to connect, share, walk and support each other. Throughout the morning, participants enjoyed donuts from Dunkin Donuts, entertainment by DJ Justin Perry. It was truly an amazing day!

To date, the Walk has raised more than $44,000 in support of Autism Speaks' mission of promoting solutions across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of people with autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorders and related conditions. Donations will continue to be collected through the end of 2017.

It was a wonderful day made possible by the support of our families, volunteres, sponsors and supporters. Thank you to everyone for your continued generosity, we couldn't have done any of this without you!
