Hi, I’m Kali, an amazing 1st grader and Co-Captain of AuSome Scholars. Together with my mom, Shirley, who is the Captain, we are honored to represent AuSome Scholars. In 2023, when I was 4 ½ years old, I was diagnosed with high-functioning autism (ASD). I love baking, dancing, and dressing up in my favorite princesses costumes.
Being the parent of a child with autism comes with many challenges, but my mom always tells me how proud she is of my resilience and how brave and strong I am—she’s my biggest cheerleader! In late 2023, my dad, Albert, passed away. We shared so many special moments together, playing basketball and swimming. He always told me I could do anything I set my mind to.
Our family believes that early support and resources are essential for scholars like me to shine. I’m excited to show the world what AuSome Scholars like me can do! Our team celebrates my journey, as well as the inspiring paths of all the scholars with unique abilities. Together, let’s make this field day truly AuSome!
