Today, over 70 million children and adults are affected by autism. Each of them, have unique strengths, challenges and potential. Autism Speaks will be there for them. You and I can be too.

My daughter Sadie has recently been diagnosed with autism. She is nonverbal and uses some signs to communicate. She is the sweetest girl in every way and loves to give hugs and play with her friends. She is currently in AVLS (advanced life skills) class at school and her teachers say she’s thriving at school. Sadie knows how to point on a communication tablet pictures of different shapes and identify colors, letters, and numbers. At school she takes speech and does physical and occupational therapy.
