THE CHALLENGE:
Today, over 70 million children and adults are affected by autism. According to the CDC, 1 in 31 children have been identified with autism spectrum disorder. The United Nations estimates that more than 80% of autistic adults are unemployed.

THE OPPORTUNITY:
Today, Autism Speaks is doing more than ever to promote solutions across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. Autism Speaks? work includes advocacy, research, and providing information and resources to members of the autistic community. I am especially excited about the work Autism Speaks is doing through their Workplace Inclusion Now (WIN) effort to help employers create a more inclusive work environment and to support and better equip autistic job seekers.
