2023 Autism Speaks 5K/1-Mile Walk

Team Ben
Team Ben is doing the 23rd Fourth of July Autism Speaks 5k. Since the event is both virtual and in-person, it's nationwide and anyone can participate, including you, if you wish. The Sahy Family (Ben, Jenn, Paul, and dogs - Micah, Zoe, Otis and Phoenix) will be doing it in Wisconsin. Joe and Pat will join the in-person participants in Potomac, Maryland, the home base for the event.
This year, we are participating to honor Ben and in memory of Peggy Simms. She dedicated her life to educating children and she loved Ben. She always supported Team Ben through Autism Speaks 5k.
We appreciate whatever you can do to help Autism Speaks reach its goals to support resarch and educaton to improve the quality of life for children and adults who are on the spectrum. Much has been accomplished, but there is more to do as the numbers of people who are affected continues to grow.
You can send a check payable to Autism Speaks (with Team Ben noted in the donation) to us at 9807 Veirs Drive, #301, Rockville, MD 20850. Or,

Hi!, Ben is pictured with Paddington who is among the horses that he cares for on a local farm as one of his jobs. In his second job, he is a food service team member for the independent residents in a continuing care facility. Believe it or not, he will be 22 years-old in July! He enjoys living in a group home with the support of caretakers and coaches. Ben continues to enjoy many outings, activities, and meals with his family.

We are grateful for your years of support and hope that you can help again, but we understand if it does not work for you this year.
