Meet Dylan (pictured left) and his older twin brother Dustin - born 2 minutes apart.  They are my bonus nephews as they are the sons of one of my best friends!  Dylan is a 17 year old high school senior.  He was diagnosed with  Autism at age 3 and was given minimum hope for a functional life.  All information provided said he would not speak again.  With his mother's determination, faith, family and a small village of friends, Dylan has defied the odds and proven the statistics wrong. 

Dylan is an avid reader.  He loves watching movies. His super power is to see a movie once and recite it from beginning to end.   His favorite movies are Speed Racer, Star Wars, Sonic and anything Mario.  Upon graduating, he will be attending junior college and then on to a four year university!

Autism, or autism spectrum disorder, refers to a range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication.

On April 21, 2024, I will participate in the TCS London Marathon in support of Dylan and Autism Speaks!  I am raising funds for a cause that is important to me while also accomplishing a personal goal.  Will you join me in my efforts?

Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions. They empower people with autism and their families with resources, online tools and information covering the life span. 

Autism Speaks enhances lives today and is accelerating a spectrum of solutions for tomorrow.
