Hi everyone, as I've become a more avid runner over the past ~3 years I couldn't help but feel I should use my newfound enthusiasm for something more meaningful.  That is why for the 2025 Chicago Marathon I have decided to run for something very near and dear to my heart and run for Autism Speaks.  Autism Speaks is an American non-profit autism awareness organization and the largest autism research organization in the United States.

My daughter, Lyla, was diagnosed with autism at the age of 3.  She is truly the sweetest human being and has a heart of gold.  Now that she is 7 years old, I realize how fortunate we have been to be able to provide her with autism geared therapy services in order to help her with her communication and life skills.  However, not every child or adult has easy access to these very helpful and important services.

Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions. They empower people with autism and their families with resources, online tools and information covering the life span. 

Autism Speaks enhances lives today and is accelerating a spectrum of solutions for tomorrow.
