Join Me in Supporting Autism Speaks!

For those who know me, you understand how deeply personal autism is to our family. My 19-year-old son, Jake, was diagnosed with autism at a very young age. Throughout his life, he has faced many challenges—but with love, support, and the right guidance, Jake continues to live his best life each and every day!

Since he was four years old, Jake’s safe place has always been Walt Disney World. There, he’s free to be himself—understood, accepted, and treated with kindness no matter who he interacts with. That “Disney Magic” is something our family holds close to our hearts, and it’s why we continue to visit the parks often.

Jake also loves to speed walk and run. So when you combine Movement and Disney, you get the Perfect Combination—and that’s why we’re so excited to take part in our Very First Run Disney Race in support of Autism Speaks!

Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), refers to a range of conditions often characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech, and nonverbal communication. Autism Speaks is dedicated to supporting individuals across the spectrum and throughout their lives—through advocacy, services, and advancing research into better interventions and greater understanding.

They empower individuals and families with resources, tools, and support from early diagnosis through adulthood. Autism Speaks is helping people live more meaningful lives today—and working toward a more inclusive future tomorrow.
