Call me Crazy but I'm running the New York City Marathon in November!
I am so very excited that Kate and I will be running the NYC Marathon on our anniversary weekend this fall. This is a Bucket List race for any runner, but more importantly we will be running and raising money for the Autism Speaks Team. Supporting this cause is incredibly important to myself and our family, and I am proud to be running to support all children and families affected by Autism. We know how important it is to have access to professionals as early as possible, and they can literally change a child's life.
Autism, or autism spectrum disorder, refers to a range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates 1 in 54 children is on the autism spectrum. Early diagnosis and intervention can be life changing to children affected by autism, and the money we are raising can make a big difference.
Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions.
Autism Speaks enhances lives today and is accelerating a spectrum of solutions for tomorrow.
Thank you for helping me reach my goal, I am grateful for your support!
Eric
