Join us in our efforts to support Autism Speaks!  

As some of you know, I ran my first Dopey Challenge at Walt Disney World's Marathon Weekend in January 2022! The Dopey Challenge is a four-day race weekend that consists of completing a 5k, 10k, half-marathon and full marathon over the course of 4 days. I must be Dopey because I will be returning in 2023 to complete my second Dopey Challenge. This year I will have some company as Kiera, Jason, and Ryan are also running the 5k. As the niece, nephew, and cousin of someone with Autism we humbly ask for your support as we run for Autism Speaks.

Autism, or autism spectrum disorder, refers to a range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates 1 in 54 children is on the autism spectrum.

Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions. They empower people with autism and their families with resources, online tools and information covering the life span. 

Autism Speaks enhances lives today and is accelerating a spectrum of solutions for tomorrow.
