The time has come again. I ran the Chicago Marathon in 2021 for Autism Speaks last year. Thank you for all who supported the effort. It was a great success. I finished with a great experience and raised money for a great cause.
I have committed to running the Chicago Marathon again in 2022. I have not asked for support sooner than today because there was some concern that I would not be able to run it again due to an injury in late June that prevented me from running for 3 weeks during the heart of the training program for the marathon. I was able to run 20 miles today on 9/25/2022 with about 2 weeks to go. It was not fast but I now feel confident that I will be able to run the event.
I run this event for my son Joey. My wife Alejandra and I are his proud parents. Running this event last year was very special and at the finish line, I felt that Joey understood that I ran it for him. I was inspired to run it again. I will say that it was harder to train for it the second time but I am ready. Running the marathon shows Joey how much I am willing to do for him and also gives me an opportunity to raise money for a good cause that may help him and many other people like him.
I am very grateful to all your support.
