Hi All!
As some of you may know, this year I have committed to training for my second marathon!
Running is something that I found in my mid-late 20s and has become an important part of my life. It is something that has helped me garner confidence in my professional life and greatly benefited my mental and physical health.
This year, I am excited to have the opportunity to use something I love to raise money for a cause close to my heart. On October 9th, I plan to run the Chicago Marathon and raise money for Autism Speaks.
Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the life span, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. They do this through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of people with autism, and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions.
In high school, I volunteered at the Double H Ranch teaching adaptive skiing, where I had the opportunity to work one-on-one with a few kids with autism at the Special Olympics in Lake Placid, NY. Working with these kids, I learned to see the world from a different perspective, and they touched my heart.
I have committed to raising $2,000 on behalf of Autism Speaks and would like to ask you to consider joining me in this effort.
Thank you so much for your consideration and for being a part of this significant milestone in my life - both as a participant of the Chicago Marathon and as an advocate for Autism Speaks and its mission.
- Regan
