Join me in my efforts to support Autism Speaks!

I am on a journey to challenging myself and advocating for our daughter who has Autism. I will be participating in Ironman Wisconsin this September, if you don't know what Ironman is, it's the ultimate test of endurance by swimming 2.4 miles, biking 112, and running a marathon of 26.2 miles. All in one day! 

If you haven't met our daughter, let me tell you a bit about how special she truly is. Autism is her super power and it truly has made her a one of a kind person. She is a loving, strong-willed, independent little girl, funny, and so much more. I hope to one day be as strong as her. The strength of our daughter, our son, and my husband is truly what will carry me through my Ironman journey and get me through Ironman Wisconsin. 

I'm so proud to be competing for my family and to show the strength of the four of us. I believe these three came into my life to help me see who I truly am and to conquer any challenge that comes my way.

I will be wearing a custom Tri-suit to show support of Autism Speaks, my family with their initials on my sleeve, and my triathlon team Rebel Racing Multisport who has supported me through all my endurance journey's. I am so proud to wear this for Ironman!

Autism, or autism spectrum disorder, refers to a range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates 1 in 54 children is on the autism spectrum.

Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions. They empower people with autism and their families with resources, online tools and information covering the life span. 

Autism Speaks enhances lives today and is accelerating a spectrum of solutions for tomorrow.
