This year, I am taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life—the New York City Marathon—not just for myself, but for a cause that is incredibly close to my heart. I am running to support Autism Speaks, an organization dedicated to advocacy, research, and resources for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families.

This mission is personal to me because my daughter, Leilani, has autism. She is my greatest inspiration, teaching me every day about resilience, patience, and the power of unconditional love. Watching her navigate the world in her own unique way has given me a new perspective on life, and I want to do everything I can to ensure that she—and every child like her—has the support and opportunities they deserve.

Autism affects 1 in 36 children in the U.S., yet so many families struggle to access the resources they need. Autism Speaks helps bridge that gap by funding crucial research, providing support services, and advocating for policies that improve the lives of individuals on the spectrum. By running the New York City Marathon, I hope to raise awareness and funds that will help make a difference in the autism community.
