I am excited about running the collection of Disney Princess runs (5k, 10k and 21k). It has been a goal do all 3 with my sister for the last year. I decided to run the 5k for Autism Speaks. Autism/ASD has greatly impacted our family and yet I know it has even more deeply impacted many others. I have a great desire for families to be heard and their needs met wherever they are at on their journey - ours certainly is not done yet! I look forward to exploring Autism Speaks's tools as we continue to navigate the transition from teenhood to adulthood. I have been impressed with the advocacy Autism Speaks offers and that 90% of all funding goes directly to those services.

Please join my sister and I as we fundraise for Autism Speaks. If you are not sure what autism, or autism spectrum disorder is, it is a range of conditions characterised by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication.

Autism Soeaks is dedicated to promoting solutions across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan for the needs of individuals with autism and their families through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of ASD and advancing research into causes and better interventions. Autism Speaks works to empower people with ASD and their families with resources, online tools and information covering the full life span.
