Autism Speaks 5K / 1-Mile Walk
This handsome young man in the Hawaiian shirt is Ben. Believe it or not, he will be 21-years-old in July! On June 3rd, he graduated from the 18-21-year-old program in the school system. He continues to be involved in the life skills, coaching, and job program. Since he loves animals, he works as a stable hand for one job. In his second job, he is a team member for food service in a nursing home. He is a busy young man.
Team Ben is doing the 22nd Fourth of July Autism Speaks 5K. Since it is both virtual and in-person, it’s nationwide and anyone can participate, including you, if you wish. The Sahy Family (Ben, Jenn, Paul, Micah, and Zoe) will be doing it in Wisconsin. Joe and Pat will join the in-person participants in Potomac, Maryland.
We are aware that the current coronavirus pandemic challenges everyone in many directions. We know that many individuals, families, and organizations are struggling in a variety of ways, including financial. This year, we respectfully ask that you carefully consider what you are able to do to support Team Ben through Autism Speaks 5K. We appreciate whatever you can do. We know that every penny (shows our age) adds to the grand total. As you know Autism Speaks supports research and education to improve the quality of life for children and adults who are on the spectrum.
You can send a check payable to Autism Speaks (with Team Ben noted in the donation line) to us at 9807 Veirs Drive, #301, Rockville, MD 20850. Or,
