2024 Autism Speaks Potomac 5k
Team Ben
Ben is pictured in front of his new Group Home in Madison, WI. He continues to work at the horse farm and the senior independent living facility near his house. In general, he reports that he enjoys working with the horses more than the people. We know that all the animal lovers understand his sentiments. He is busy with his support team of coaches and caretakers. They work to help him gain independence by teaching him life skills. We enjoyed our visits in August and April with Ben, his parents, and the four wonderful Sahy dogs.
Team Ben is doing the 24th Fourth of July Autism Speaks 5K. Since the event is both virtual and in-person, it’s nationwide and anyone can participate, including you, if you wish. The Sahy Family (Ben, Jenn, Paul, and dogs - Micah, Zoe, Otis, and Phoenix) will be doing it in Wisconsin. Joe and Pat will join the in-person participants in Potomac, Maryland, the home base for the event.
As always, we appreciate whatever you can do to help Autism Speaks reach its goals to support research and education to improve the quality of life for children and adults who are on the spectrum. Much has been accomplished, but there is more to do as the numbers of people who are affected continues to grow. When we began this event, it was for one in 59 people affected by autism. Now it is one in 36 people.
We are grateful for your years of support and hope that you can help again, but we understand if it does not work for you this year.
You can send a check payable to Autism Speaks (with Team Ben noted in the donation line) to us at 9807 Veirs Drive, #301, Rockville, MD 20850. Or,
If you wish to donate directly, you can click on the Donate button next to Ben's photo and use the link (please credit “Team Ben”):
We are very grateful for your many years of support. We look forward to hearing about your walk or run, too.
Thank you.
