Thank you for visiting Bennett and Lonnie's Autism Speaks support page.  We're so glad you're here to join us on this journey.  Parenting is rarely easy, but having the support of people like you will help us as we navigate the complexities of parenting a child with autism.

Our journeys began years before a diagnosis confirmed what we had known all along.  With every challenge at the dinner table, fight with a sibling, call from a teacher, and meltdown over accidentally coloring outside the lines, we pulled our hair out wondering what we could do differently to make life easier for all involved.  Turns out parenting a child with autism isn't easy, and modern medicine is only able to treat some of the symptoms, while being unable to provide a cure.  This is where the support of our friends, family, neighbors, and community can help to play a vital role in the research and development of medications that can better treat autism, parenting programs that help provide guidance for parents of children with autism.
