Hi, my name is Kaitlyn Samawi, and I am a Physical Therapy student at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. One of my personal goals for 2026 is to participate in several runs, and my first race of the year will be the Empower 5K on May 2nd, which raises awareness and support for Autism.
Autism awareness is something that has become very meaningful to me over the years. I have had the opportunity to work with patients on the autism spectrum and spent a year working at an ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) clinic for children, where I helped children learn important communication, social, and daily living skills while supporting their growth and independence. Through that experience, as well as through encounters with patients, individuals I know personally, and even conversations with strangers in passing with autism, I have seen firsthand the impact that support, understanding, and resources can have.
Running this 5K is my way of helping raise awareness and contribute to a cause that means a lot to me. If you are able to donate, any amount would truly be appreciated and will help support autism awareness and the communities affected by it.
Thank you so much for your support!
