Chicago Walk

Ben's Believers

On Saturday, October 23rd, our family and friends will be walking in our first Autism Speaks Walk at Soldier Field, in support of our sweet Benzer. Ben finally received his autism diagnosis on July 9, 2021, almost 4 years to the day after his developmental delay evaluation began. He's already the hardest working boy around, growing and making gains so regularly that we often have to stop and remind ourselves what life looked like 6 months or a year ago. There is still so much work for us to do, so much to try to understand, but we are stronger with the support of our family and friends.

We'd love for you to participate however you can. There are buttons on this page to "Join our team" (walk with us that day) or "Donate to a team member (unable to walk with us but want to donate). Walkers set individual fundraising goals - whatever you're comfortable with - which can even be a small donation of your own. If you're wondering what happens to money raised from this walk, it contributes to the overall mission of Autism Speaks - to fuel innovative research and make connections to critical lifelong supports and services for the autism community. It helps strengthen our collective voice with legislators, provides access to the information and resources we need, supports research and medical discovery, and funds local services through the mission of Autism Speaks. 85 cents of every dollar raised funds research, advocacy, programs and services. Together, we can accomplish amazing things for people living with autism and their families.

*Please note that in the registration form you'll agree to adhere to Autism Speaks' COVID safety guidelines, which at present include wearing a mask on walk day.
