Walk For Jayden

Join our team in raising funds to have a voice with legislators, to have access to the information and resources we need, to support research and medical discovery, and to help fund local services through the mission of Autism Speaks. Together, we can accomplish amazing things for people living with autism. Join the team and begin your fundraising journey today! Set your individual goal at $150 and you'll be eligible for a Walk Tee Shirt - which, by the way, was purchased from a business that employs people with autism.

Here is my store & why I walk:

I am walking for the first time for my sweet 4 year old Jayden who has Autism. This year is the first year where we have reached our diagnosis. That diagnosis has started to help my little boy make tremendous strides. As his mom, I always knew in my gut something was different. Hearing his diagnosis for the first time hit me like a ton of bricks. I was pregnant with Jayden's little sister at the time. I remember hearing those words, & feeling so lost after receiving that diagnosis. Doctors don't give you a manual. As his mom, I went all in and did all the research I could, read books on Autism, and attended every parent workshop I could in the Autism community. I really dedicated myself to try and understand Autism, and what I could do to help my little boy. One of my biggest resources was the Autism Speaks website. There was tons of resources that made me confident that everything was going to be okay. I am walking to help raise funds for the mission of Autism Speaks - to fuel innovative research and make connections to critical lifelong supports and services for the Autism community. I want to help make an impact for people and families living with Autism. I hope one day I can also help those families who are receiving a diagnosis for the first time. I want a share a quote I read that has stuck with me during our journey. "Autism doesn't come with a manual, it comes with a parent who never gives up." That is so true, and I will continue to advocate for my child. I promised to continue helping my child, but also to help other families. This walk and fundraiser is just the beginning. I love you Jayden! You have so many people around you who love you, especially your mom, dad, little sister Sophia, and your 2 puppies Romeo & Lucky. Autism doesn't define you, it is just a part of you! This journey hasn't been easy, but I am so proud and hopeful! You will do amazing things in the world! Your kindness is such a gift, and I am so lucky God has blessed us with you in our lives! Walk for Jayden & all the other families on their Autism journey. With this fundraiser, together, we can accomplish amazing things for people living with Autism. Thank you for your support! -Debbie
