Help us reach our goal!

In addition to coming together in person to help create a world where all people with autism can reach their full potential, each Walk will retain the fun, remote-participation options introduced last year. Your safety is our priority — and no matter how you choose to participate, your support will be recognized and celebrated. Our community is stronger together, and we can't wait to celebrate one another and the amazing impact we are making together for people with autism and their families. Whether near or far, let's rally together on Walk day!

PLEASE JOIN MY TEAM AND HELP ME RAISE FUNDS AND AWARENESS

My name is Josh Evans and I'm a 14-year-old in 8th grade at Silas Deane Middle School in Wethersfield, CT

I chose autism for my Bar Mitzvah and school volunteer project because my little cousin Gabe, who was born 3-months early, was diagnosed with autism at 2 years old.  I am inspired by Gabe because he was born at 1 pound, 9 ounces needing many medical interventions.  Now, he is a happy and smart 3-year-old little guy who has made so much progress with his speech.  Every time I see him, he has mastered a new word or phrase.

Here are two facts I learned as part of my research to make this event happen:

  1. An estimated 40 percent of people with autism are non-verbal
  2. Autism spectrum disorder now affects 1 in every 68 children
