We walk for our biggest little love, Landon. Our son was diagnosed in December of 2016 and while it was overwhelming, scary, stressful, etc. we have found solace in the fact that there are as many resources as there are available to help guide us as parents on this journey. Our child is FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made and is so special, unique, bright, loving and fun in his own perfect way. We can't wait to see what the future holds for him and to grow with the Autism community as he does.
Currently, Landon is KILLING IT with his diagnosis and has been able to stop his behavioral therapy. He continues with speech therapy and occupational therapy weekly and through the school system. He has moved to a General Education classroom for all subjects now and is in the GIFTED SEARCH program at school. He was also diagnosed with Speech Apraxia in June 2018 but has been able to stop seeing the specialist for this and just work with his normal speech language pathologists.
He has recently found a passion in learning to play golf, enjoys reading and ABSOLUTELY LOVES building Legos. He has a knack for knowledge and can tell you any and everything you’d ever want to know about dinosaurs and reptiles. He also is showing signs of an eidetic memory and can remember anything he has read after just hearing it once. We also recently found out he LOVES history and learning about dates and the past - his Grandpa Phil would be proud!!
He is the busiest little guy we know but we love every minute of watching him learn and grow. Every day is a roller coaster and we never know what's coming, but we wouldn't have it any other way. We walk once a year and fight and advocate every minute of every day. Please join us in loving on and supporting him!
