TEAM MATTHEW IS BACK!!!
Update: We were the top fundraising team in GA last year and it is all because of YOU!!! Our family continues to be humbled by the generosity and overall kindness by our family and friends. Our community that rallies around support for Matthew and Autism is nothing short of a miracle. We are asking again for your help this year. We would love for you to register and become a member of our walk team @ The Battery, but good vibes are always appreciated.
The money raised continues to impact research for Autism and provide countless of resources for so many that simply feel lost. We are growing and learning together.
Keeping our original story below; however, updating to share our vibrant, sports statistics loving Matthew, is thriving and growing every single day!!!!! He loves math and is reading Dog Man books (his fave) and has recently begun spelling everything out loud. I mean everything, haha. We are very proud of his continuous improvements with behavior and social interactions.
Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts,
Katie, Tim, Anna and Matthew Carr
When Matthew was 3 years old, we started to notice he was losing his balance often and more accident prone. Many DR appointments later, it was determined he had a sensory processing disorder (basically he couldn’t tell what sense to use, clouding his mind, creating confusion/falling down), and recommended an Autism center for further testing.
Fast forward 4 years and we have a WONDERFUL, baseball loving, 7 year old boy, smart as a whip, uniquely Matthew Walter Carr, and thriving with Level 1 Autism. It is not always easy, but he has a team of amazing therapists, school leaders, family and friends that are considered a huge part of “Team Matthew.”
