I am walking for my students, my family, myself, to support black and brown families that give a home to someone that is autistic, diagnosed or not. As a Black male Special Education teacher, it is so important to give representation to all those that aren’t able to see themselves on a path of success. I represent those that can’t speak and advocate for themselves, and educate those same students on life skills. This walk, represents inclusion and love, beyond compare, particularly for students of color as they aren’t diagnosed as effectively as their counterparts. I walk for justice and advocacy in spaces that typically aren’t accessible to these same communities. Please support the Jacob’s Puzzle Foundation as we raise funds to support research and employment opportunities for Autistic People of Color.
Please join the “The JPF” by donating to help me reach my fundraising goal. Together, we have the power to enhance the lives of people with autism and make a meaningful difference. Thanks so much for your support!
From Autism Speaks:
It’s only through the dedicated support of people like us that Autism Speaks can continue their vital mission work. Each year, the Autism Speaks Autism Response Team makes direct contact with tens of thousands of individuals looking for advice or guidance and more than one million people access their free nationwide autism services and resources. They continue to partner and support research to improve the lives of people with autism by investing in science that will allow more personalized treatments and therapies.
