Today, over 70 million children and adults are affected by autism. Each of them, have unique strengths, challenges and potential. Autism Speaks will be there for them. You and I can be too.

Pernell was at age 2 when he was diagnosed with Autism. While both parent weren't knowledgeable of what his diagnosis entailed, making sure Pernell was loved and treated was our first priority. At age 6, Pernell is still considered non verbal, but what he lacks in communication, he makes up with that with tremendous amounts of love and affection towards others. Pernell enjoys counting, singing along with Blues Clues and playing with his Marvel characters. Although given these challenges, Pernell is truly a bright, handsome, and energetic child and we do not allow his diagnosis to prevent him from enjoying his day to day like any other child.
