To this date-over 7 million people are on the autism spectrum. This is my 5th year of Fundraising for Autism Speaks! I began to fundraise at first because my son Jake is on the spectrum and I wanted to raise funds on his behalf! As time went on-I realized how autism is affecting so many families world -wide and I became passionate about this cause! Many families have more than one autistic child-and this can wreak havoc on a family-both emotionally and financially. Our government is not doing enough for this population. Severe autism is rampant- kids are born non-verbal with social and behavioral deficits which seems to be to be a whole other area of hardship! This is Autism Speaks biggest fundraiser of the year and I want to do my part! Besides raising funds=-I am also on the Walk committee! We are working hard to make this year's walk fun and meaningful for all generations! Please donate to this cause-which is so important ! I need to raise funds for Team Jake so that I can do my part as a parent of an autistic child- therefore assisting the entire community! Evert donation matters!
In addition to coming together in person to help create a world where all people with autism can reach their full potential, each Walk will retain the fun, remote-participation options introduced last year. Your safety is our priority — and no matter how you choose to participate, your support will be recognized and celebrated. Our community is stronger together, and we can't wait to celebrate one another and the amazing impact we are making together for people with autism and their families. Whether near or far, let's rally together on Walk day!
