In February of 2017, my then 18month old was diagnosed with Autism. We were told she'd never speak and be severely disabled. If you know my Scarlett, you know the journey we've been on and how hard she works at everything she does.
I truly believe Early Intervention was the key to her success! I watch her everyday, I watch the struggle, I watch the tears but I also watch her THRIVE and do things that we were told she'd never do.
This walk is for her. And for every child who struggles. And for every parent who works with their child, watches them struggle, watches them succeed and appreciates all the little things - THAT MUCH MORE.
I'm walking to help people show more acceptance and understanding. There are other ways of learning and she just learns at her own pace, a little differently than you and I do.
I'm walking to raise funds for the mission of Autism Speaks - to fuel innovative research and make connections to critical lifelong supports and services for the autism community. Please support me by donating and help me meet my fundraising goal - and you, too, can join the team and make an impact for people living with autism!
