Last week Ryder asked me how I knew Jace had autism. I sat down with him and explained Jace’s brain compared to a typical brain. Ryder then asked me who would take care of Jace when he gets older. I told him mommy and daddy!
Ryder said “ Ok good because it’s too hard for me!”
This is our reality! As Ryder gets older, he’s more aware of his brothers challenges. He knows how difficult it is to watch over him.
We are a very positive family. We celebrate all milestones. We know our limits. We laugh at new “odd” behaviors. It’s not easy but we keep going.
Jace has made such huge progress since his diagnosis at age 2. I will continue to advocate. I will continue to raise money every year for autism speaks. Jace deserves it. Ryder deserves it.
Please come walk with our family on Sunday October 8th.
