Help us reach our goal!

In addition to coming together in person to help create a world where all people with autism can reach their full potential, each Walk will retain the fun, remote-participation options introduced last year. Your safety is our priority — and no matter how you choose to participate, your support will be recognized and celebrated. Our community is stronger together, and we can't wait to celebrate one another and the amazing impact we are making together for people with autism and their families. Whether near or far, let's rally together on Walk day!

Team Jojo

Josiah, who we call Jojo, was born on February 3rd 2020. He was full term, with no complications during pregnancy. He is the sweetest little boy you'd ever meet. He was diagnosed with autism on September 16th 2022. Josiah showed characteristics of autism from as early as I can remember. The flapping of the hands was first, then when he learned how to walk, it was the walking on his tippy toes. He said "Mama" and "Dada" at about 9 months, but regressed and now is fully nonverbal.

Despite being nonverbal Josiah speaks through his actions. He will guide you somewhere he wants to go, or give you something he needs assistance with. Most of the time, he figures out many things on his own by trial and error. He loves lining objects up, and would rather play with household items opposed to toys. Though Jojo cannot say "I love you" he shows his affection by cuddling, and having those he cares about close to him. He just recently learned the concept of kisses, and will hold your face and bring you close.

Words aren't everything, and he proves that

Let's walk for Jojo!
