As many of you already know, this cause holds a very special place in our hearts. To know Mila is to love her. She is a free spirit and likes to live on the edge lol. Mila reminds me a lot of myself, only she's way better. She is silly, energetic, strong, happy, smart and so affectionate. She is our little hot pepper and she is the absolute best!
Mila was reaching all of her developmental milestones as a baby. But around 1 1/2 years old Brian and I started to notice some regressions. We knew deep down inside where this was going to lead us. With her diagnosis came many mixed emotions, so many worries, unanswered questions, guilt, helplessness, you name it, we felt it. And at times we still feel it. But more than anything, it has brought our family closer and has helped us see the world differently. Mila may not say much, but she has taught all of us that love needs no words. Brian, Luca, Landon and I have her back and would do anything for our girl. Needless to say, Mila is in good hands. We are also blessed to have such amazing friends and family to support us through this journey. My mom, dad, brothers, SILs, nieces, nephews, titis, tios, cousins, BILs, etc. are the BEST of the best and I couldn't be more thankful that Mila has them as her support system as well. We are Mila's Army !
