"It takes a village to raise a child"... this can't be far from the truth when it comes to any child but this saying definitely holds truth to our hearts when it comes to Kameron! 

When we got the diagnosis of Kam being autistic, the shock and disappointment of having that "normal" child was definitely around us because the truth is, you never want to experience the unknown when it's happening to you and yours.

...BUT let's fast forward to over a year later and KAM IS THRIVING!!!

Kameron is extremely playful, a great critical thinker, energetic, strong willed, and SMART as heck! He will try to push his boundaries with anyone and everyone but at the end of the day, knows what's right and what's wrong (and trust when he knows he's wrong, he'll laugh because he knows he's been caught). He has the biggest heart and will - almost - always give you a hug/high five to tell you he cares. 

With all that said, we didn't know what to expect with his initial diagnosis but thanks to orgs like Autism Speaks, there are resources out there and we want to keep these resources available to any family that feels uncertain about the future. Today, over 70 million children and adults are affected by autism. Each of them, have unique strengths, challenges and potential. Autism Speaks will be there for them. You and I can be too.
