I'm walking to raise funds for the mission of Autism Speaks and for my son, Nicholas. This is our 8th year walking, with Team Nicholas coming in first place in fundraising the last three consecutive years.   We’ve also been part of the Grand Club since year 1 of the walk by raising at least $1000 for an individual Walker.  Nick is 14 years old and is in 8th grade. He's involved in Dungeon's & Dragons club, Unified Sports, and participates in Empower Sports outside of school to stay involved.  

His life journey began at 24 weeks gestation weighing in at just 1.5 lbs and 12 inches long. Over the years, his independence has grown and he continues to have a happy disposition keeping us all laughing with his silliness and infectious laughter. He's the happiest kid I know thanks to a good natured personality he was blessed with.  This year he's finally hit the same height as me (and surpassed some of his family members!).  We've been blessed with a whole host of therapists, teachers, aides, and family members who have helped Nick achieve his fullest potential. It truly takes a village to help any child succeed, and Nick certainly has a village behind him!
