I'm walking to raise funds for the mission of Autism Speaks and for my son, Nicholas. Nicholas is 14 years old and he's come a long way since his early entrance into the world at just 24 weeks and 4 days, weighing in at 1 lb 8 oz and just 12 inches long. He's thriving in school and at home in learning new skills, growing independence, and keeping us all laughing with his silliness and infectious laughter. He's the happiest kid I know thanks to a good natured personality he was blessed with, but also thanks to the support of many therapists, aides, teachers, support staff, friends and families of friends, and our own extended family's tremendous support since he was born. It truly takes a village to help any child succeed, and Nick certainly has a village behind him! Please consider donating to me to help raise funds for the mission of Autism Speaks to provide family resources and support to children and adults touched by Autism. We thank you in advance for your generous support over the years!
In addition to coming together in person to help create a world where all people with autism can reach their full potential, each Walk will retain the fun, remote-participation options introduced last year. Your safety is our priority — and no matter how you choose to participate, your support will be recognized and celebrated. Our community is stronger together, and we can't wait to celebrate one another and the amazing impact we are making together for people with autism and their families. Whether near or far, let's rally together on Walk day!
