Walking for Nicholas
When Nicholas was diagnosed with autism at the age of 3, our world shifted. His dad and I had always sensed he might one day be identified, but the diagnosis still changed the way we looked at life. Over the years, though, we?ve stopped seeing his differences as ?autism? and started seeing them simply as Nicholas. He is strong, determined, and full of joy ? a gift we are blessed to share with everyone who knows him.
What inspires me most is the way Nicholas meets each day. Life brings challenges for all of us, but he faces obstacles most of us can?t imagine ? and he does it with courage, persistence, and even humor. He never complains, he just works harder to prove that nothing can stop him? except maybe a popcorn-and-ice-water break!
Why We Support Autism Speaks
Autism Speaks has been an incredible resource for families like mine, providing advocacy, support, and hope for the autism community. Their mission matters deeply to us, and we are proud to walk for Nicholas and for every individual and family touched by autism.
Your support ? no matter the size ? makes a difference. It helps fund research, services, and awareness that change lives every day. From our family to yours, thank you for standing with us, for cheering on Nicholas, and for believing in the strength of this community.
With love and gratitude,
