For those who don't know, our first born Finley was diagnosed with autism in December. We are so grateful to have a healthy and happy child, but let's face it, life isn't easy, especially life with a disability. As X2 any mother, it was hard to hear and know where to go after his diagnosis. We could not be more proud of the leaps and bounds Finley has taken. I feel society needs to be more aware and more accepting of people with special needs. Someone who is different from you is ok. We need to break the norm. With the help of his preschool, speech therapy and occupational therapy he is doing amazing. (Shout out to his teachers and therapists!). Please help raise funds for this amazing cause. Every penny helps in finding new ways to help autistic kids, adults and helps their loved ones bring awareness.
Today, over 70 million children and adults are affected by autism. Each of them, have unique strengths, challenges and potential. Autism Speaks will be there for them. You and I can be too.
It's only through the dedicated support of people like us that Autism Speaks can continue their vital mission work. Each year, the Autism Speaks Autism Response Team makes direct contact with tens of thousands of individuals looking for advice or guidance and more than one million people access their free nationwide autism services and resources. They continue to partner and support research to improve the lives of people with autism by investing in science that will allow more personalized treatments and therapies. You can find out even more about where your fundraising dollars go at autismspeaks.org/our-work.
