It’s that time of year again and the Autism Speaks walk is coming up quickly on September 9th. I walk for my son Micah and everyone that is affected by autism---children, adults, family members, parents, caregivers, teachers, and aides. Micah is growing into a young man and now I am thinking more than ever before, what opportunities he may have as an adult. Many companies are starting to learn and appreciate the unique skill set that many autistic people have with addition to detail and perfection in what interests them. I want this recognition to broaden and open up a world for my son.
With education comes understanding, with understanding comes acceptance, with acceptance---- the future is brighter than ever before for my son and others. Donate as you wish and/or join us on University of Cincinnati campus on September 9th for the walk.
Autism is a journey that I had never planned to take, but I love my tour guide!
