Why I Walk for Autism Speaks
Dear families of typical children,
Sometimes, I don't like you... this isn't because you are a bad person or because you have done anything wrong, it is because you get to experience the development of your children in such a pace that you take for granted.
Your children make friends, go to birthday parties, you get to be "soccer moms", you get to look forward to the milestones of seen your children having a career, been able to leave independently, getting married and having kids.
Do you realize how lucky you are?
My heart aches when I hear your stories or read your posts sometimes... Not because I am not happy for you but because I wonder if my son will ever get there.
I wonder how his future would look like if I am no longer here.
I guess like every mom out there I will fight and advocate for my son until my last breath!
Dear neuro-diversed families (like mine),
I am convinced our children choose us for a reason... during this journey we have discovered a strenght that we didn't know we had!
We have what it takes to help our kids be the best they can be!
Please join me to fundraise for Autism Speaks; your donation will help to fuel innovative research and provide critical lifelong programs and support for those with autism. Our hope is that someday, no family will have to hear the words, "your child has autism". And, if they do, there will be so many options and answers available that they will not feel alone.
Your kindness and support is what we need to find answers and continue advocating.
Please know that no donation is a small donation!
From the heart of the mom of an autism worrior!
I earned my Walk Tee Shirt!
