The Empower Walk & 5K Run combines our signature Walk with an exciting new 5K Run. While we’ve updated the name and logo, our mission remains unchanged: to create a more inclusive world.

News & Updates

Runner Packet Pickup at Road Runner Sports has been canceled: Early pickup scheduled for October 30 has been called off. All runners will pick up their bibs at the Runner Check-In tent on the morning of the event.

New Venue: We are thrilled to be at a new venue this year — Oak Canyon Park! This private park has many fun attractions, including a bounce house, ping pong, foosball, cornhole, giant checkers & connect 4, and more! We will also have a balloon artist and face painter — fun for any age!

Directions & Parking: Oak Canyon Park, 5305 Santiago Canyon Road, Silverado. Enter OAK CANYON PARK SILVERADO (or exact address) into navigation for turn-by-turn directions directly to the parking lot! Parking is free. Follow signs and look for parking attendants who will direct you.

Pets: Oak Canyon Park requests that you leave your furry friends at home, unless they are a service animal. Service animals must be leashed at all times. We appreciate your understanding!

Quiet Area: We know the environment at large events can be challenging for people with sensory sensitivities. All Empower Walk & 5K events have a quiet space available to anyone who needs it. The Quiet Area will have signage, and volunteers will be available to direct you.

The Autism Speaks Empower Walk & 5K Run is more than just a walk or run — it's a celebration of community, inclusion, and progress. This exciting event combines everything you love about the traditional Autism Speaks Walk with the added energy of a 5K run!

Whether you're walking, running, or cheering from the sidelines, you'll be part of an inspiring experience filled with connection and purpose. The event features a wide range of activities for all ages and abilities, including:

A robust lineup of tools, services, and supports that span the entire autism lifespan.
🤝 Friendship Bracelet Station
Create and share bracelets to celebrate unity and connection.
🦸‍♂️ Superhero Sprint
A fun, fast-paced race for all ages— with capes!
📸 Photo Opportunities
Capture unforgettable memories at our themed selfie stations.

Games, entertainment, community partners, and surprises around every corner.
